June 2024 :
Researcher apprentice:
This year our team participated once again to the researcher apprentice’s initiative organized by the association “L’ arbre des connaissances”. Irini worked with Félix (15 years old) and Berenice (13 years old) from December to June in monthly 3 hour sessions where she allowed them to discover the magic world of CAR-T cells from CAR design and cloning till the expression in a T cell. Congratulations to Félix and Berenice for their presentation in the congress organized for all students participating to this initiative where they had the occasion to share their lab experience with their friends and family!
Participation to two scientific meetings.
Congratulations to Mathilde for her oral presentation to the Swiss Young Immunologists society (SYIS) Annual Symposium 2024.
Loredana was invited to present Mathilde and Despoina’s projects at the Immunoreceptors and Immunotherapy FASEB meeting, Saint Paul, Minnesota, US. Despoina presented her results in the poster session.
May 2024 :
Scientific Meeting :
Irini and Klaus participated to the EMBO workshop “Microglia in health and disease” that took place in Genova, Italy. Congratulations to Klaus for his poster presentation on his PhD project on a novel transcription factor regulating neuroinflammation! This workshop that gathered many experts in the field highlighted the importance of these cells in brain physiology and pathology. There is now much better understanding concerning different states at the transcriptional level of these fascinating cells but there is still a lot to unravel at the protein level and the molecular mechanisms involved in their diverse functions.
Welcome to Matéo!
Matéo joined the lab for an internship during his third year of pharmacy studies. Welcome.
